The horrific and absurd ending is pitch perfect. This might be one of the best books I've read in the past decade. Not for the feint of heart, the plot is gripping, disturbing and never trite or subdued.
The descriptions offered in it will last with me forever. It's meaningful. As good as the movie was, which I saw first Mysterious Skin (Deluxe Unrated Director's Edition) I loved this book. Loved it so much that I willingly choose to write a paper on it.
It's a short book and doesn't exactly have an abundant vocabulary, however it brings you into many perspectives and really gets you into the story. It's a sick and twisted book involving two boys and everyone around them. I love this book, it's one of my all-time favorites.

I started this novel three days ago thinking that I'll read a chapter or two and then go to sleep. Prepare to be shocked, disturbed, and touched. It actually made me cry twice.
I needed to know what happened next so I stayed up until 4 AM three days in a row and I finally finished it.I don't really have anything to say about the story.others have done that already. But most of all, READ IT. I just want to say that this one of the best novel I've read.
I think that this is the first novel I've read that made me cry. This is a sure sign that this is not your ordinary novel. You won't regret it.-Ater
Once close to the end of the book, and then at the actual end.This is a powerful and disturbing novel that needs to be read. I stayed up until 4 AM and read 95 pages in one sitting.
